The following degree course program is offered exclusively in cooperation with Akadmie für multimediale Ausbildung und Kommunikation – AMAK AG at the Mittweida University of Applied Sciences.
According to guidelines and under supervision of the Mittweida University of Applied Sciences, the first four semesters of this six-semester course are carried out in a Private Public Partnership (PPP)-model at private academies. For this part of study, fees will be charged. In the following 5th semester, students become enrolled at the Mittweida University of Applied Sciences, where they also will finally finish their studies.

Characteristics of the study programme
The study programme applies the established principle of the ‘Mittweidaer Modell’, ensuring interdisciplinary and practice-oriented studies. Studies combine basic knowledge in business administration and focus subjects in the specific fields of application Medical Management, Prevention and Therapy. Against the background of principle changes on the health market, the study programme fulfils every demand on market-oriented and branch-related training.
The student acquires skills for responsible performance on the areas of management, consulting and marketing in commercial enterprises and institutions of health care. Graduates of the degree course have broad knowledge of the business and structural conditions of the respective branch and service environment, and the therapeutic techniques and approaches. Besides, the graduate has specific skills for operating in the institutional framework of the health care sector: hospital, health spa facility, health, rehab and wellness institutions, medical practice, pharmaceutical industry, pharmacy, insurance, as well as in a broad field of specialisations in therapy and economics, such as nutrition, healing and therapeutic procedures, wellness, and diagnostics.
The particular closeness to the professional environment becomes obvious by the high proportion of renowned lecturers and extended project-related studies. By the linkage between the locations of the academies and the clinics and health institutions, connection to the particular health business is ensured.

Objectives of study
The aim of the degree course is, apart from the scientific demands of the subject, to provide application-oriented training in occupational practice for graduates who take responsibility for tasks in different areas. Based on profound economic, health-scientific and societal expert knowledge and various key competencies, graduates are enabled to cope with diverse matters of their occupational field.
Tuition provides scientific foundations, methods and special knowledge in an application and close to practice-oriented way. In many modules, the study programme integrates students in topical and concrete application scenarios of the business in which they, accompanied by academics, work independently in team and take over responsibility. In the course of the private period of training, close connection to relevant institutions at the location of the academy will be established.
Key subjects in the degree course Health Management are the entrepreneurial, legal, healthcare and therapeutic conditions and processes in health care. Fundamental requisite know how for providing technical issues in the information society will be added.
