Objektive

Mittweida media managers form the new, digital generation of media makers. For us, one medium is not enough.

We don't just produce for one channel like television or radio. We want to tell stories that you can read on paper, hear on the radio, feel at events and see in videos.

In Germany's most modern academic media centre, all possibilities are open to you. Whether it's the TV studio, visual effects and post-production, a digital printery, the FM radio station 99drei or the infinite online world - here you'll experience what holds media together technically, in terms of content and economically. You learn how to creatively weave them together yourself.

In practical projects such as medienMITTWEIDA, the Campus Festival Mittweida and the Media Forum, you will immediately put what you have learned into practice under real-life conditions and expand your skills and interests individually.

In addition to a permanent position, the Bachelor's degree opens up the possibility of becoming self-employed. In addition, the path to a postgraduate Master's programme such as Media and Communication Studies in Mittweida is open to you.

Structure

In your basic studies, you will gain a sound knowledge of content, design, business administration and media technology and production. Afterwards, you decide on a specialisation:

Digital Media and Journalism

Text and concept are your world, storytelling is your craft. You write for blogs, magazines, radio and television programmes. You conduct interviews or host your own programme. Knowledge of Web 4.0, content management and social media round off your profile.

Media Production

Film and TV inspire you. Netflix, YouTube and Instagram are your home. When it comes to audiovisual production, you play to your strengths. Are you enthusiastic about working on camera, directing or editing? In Mittweida you'll become a specialist in dramaturgy and screenwriting. You will develop new formats, music videos and TV series.

eSports and Games Marketing

LAN parties are your passion? Make it your profession! You learn to plan, organise, design, market and broadcast eSports events live. You'll know how the industry works, learn the practical steps of games development and marketing, and develop profitable eSports business models as well as suitable marketing concepts.

Media and Business

You have an overview, know schedules and budgets. You take care of all resources that are necessary for complex media productions: You book artists and actors, negotiate with directors and clients. As a project manager, marketing and sales professional, you hold all the reins firmly in your hand.
